Shirley C. Denecke

Shirley C. Denecke, 80, of Mays Landing, passed away September 1, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she grew up in Pleasantville, NJ and lived in Egg Harbor Twp before moving to Mays Landing, NJ 4 months ago. She was a housekeeper for Tropicana Hotel and Casino before retiring in 2010. In her free time she enjoyed playing canasta, paint by numbers and spending time with her family.

Shirley is predeceased by her parents, Virgina Adams and Elwood Snowden; and step-father, Randy Adams; sisters, Ginny Patierno and Ann Carmen; brother, Job Adams; and son, Joseph Aponte Sr. She is survived by her brothers, Woody Snowden, Charles Snowden (Karen), John Adams (Linda) and Jonas Adams; her sister, Rebecca Kaenzig (Wally); her children, Hector Aponte, Jr. (Karen), Tina Super (Todd), John Aponte, Sr. (Diana) and Sara Risley; as well as 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
