Sandra Dee Johnson

Sandra Dee Johnson, ‘Sandy’ (Mama Dukes), 65, passed away peacefully on September 25 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Sandy was a devoted and hardworking woman who spent more than 20 years working for Atlantic County Special Services. She also proudly served as a Lieutenant with the Galloway East Volunteer Ambulance Squad for many years, dedicating her time and compassion to helping others in her community. She retired early due to health complications but she never let that slow her down. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Sandy had a fun-loving spirit and enjoyed many things in life. Some of her favorite pastimes included camping, bingo, driving, watching the Phillies, visiting amusement parks, shopping at Walmart, and taking trips to yard sales. She also enjoyed going to Atlantic City and making memories with the people she loved.

Above all, Sandy cherished her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, her generous heart, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.

Sandy is predeceased by her father, Vernon Johnson; and her grandparents. She is survived by her mother, Ruth Johnson; her children Diane Smallwood, and son Shawn; Her son, William Smallwood; and his daughters, Mariella and Milina; her daughter, Kathryn Smallwood (Jesse); and her children, Warren and Kourtney; Her Brother, Steven Johnson (John); and daughter, Ashley; her children, Charlotte, Michael and Elliott; and her sister, Sharon Johnson. She is also survived by the father of her children, William Smallwood.

Sandy leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will forever carry her love in their hearts. Though she is deeply missed, her memory will live on through everyone who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 10AM to 11:30AM on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave, Absecon. The funeral service will follow at 11:30AM. After the service she will be cremated. Burial of ashes will be announced at a later date.
