Robert W. Allen

Robert ‘Bob’ W. Allen, 74, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019, in Atlantic City, NJ. Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA, August 12, 1944 to John and Helen (Ross) Allen. He was a veteran of the Marines and served from 1962 to 1964. Bob was employed for many years as a Head Bartender at the Diamond Club at Temple University and had a passion for cooking. He was a lover of all animals and cared for many dogs and cats over the years.

Bob was married to Margaretta (Daly) on November 29, 1985 at the Honorable Judge McCabe’s House, in Philadelphia. He is survived by his wife, Margaretta; his son, Nolan and his daughter-in-law, Lucy; step-son, Ryan Davis; he was Grand”bob” to Ryan and Nate Davis; his older brother, John and his sister-in-law Marguerite; and was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a proud father and husband; he took pleasure in showering his family members with love and was always being silly. He enjoyed attending all of Nolan’s baseball games, watching all the Philly sports teams, especially “The Stinkin’ Phillies”. He loved searching for collectables and bargains.

Viewing will be 11AM to 1PM, with a service at 1PM on Saturday, August 10th, at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey, Ave, Absecon, NJ 08201. In keeping with Bob’s love for animals and spirit of giving, in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Atlantic City Humane Society, 1401 Absecon Blvd, Atlantic City, NJ 08401 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
