Robert W. (Bill) Keener, 96, of Pleasantville, NJ, passed away November 27, 2025. Born in Gasaway, West Virginia, he grew up in Charleston, WV and lived in Falls Church, VA before moving to Pleasantville, NJ 57 years ago.
Upon graduation from Charleston High School, he enlisted in the United State Air Force where he studied meteorology. After his service, Bill became a Weatherman for National Weather Service before retiring in 1987. He was a veteran with the Air Force serving during the Korean War.
In his early years, Bill was a drummer in a Jazz Band called Larry Flint and the Blue Notes in West Virginia. Bill also received his pilots license and spent many hours in the air. In his free time, he enjoyed anything electronic (CB radio, computers) and music.
Bill is predeceased by his parents, Day S. and Wilmoth (Adkins); and daughter, Lesa A. He is survived by his sons, Robert (Maureen) and William (Dorie); grandchildren, Christopher (Laura), Patrick (Cory) and Robert; step-grandchildren Richard (Camellia), Gregory, Victoria, Vanessa (Derek) and David; great-grandchildren, Lily, Conor and Mathilda; and step-great-grandchildren Hunter, Kendall and Nolan.
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:30 on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave, Absecon, NJ 08201. A service will immediately follow at 11:30AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Absecon Presbyterian Church Deacons, 208 New Jersey Avenue, Absecon, NJ 08201. Online condolences, may be placed at www.parselsfh.com.
