In Loving Memory of Richard ("Rick") Alan Kancy (1962-2026), Our deeply adored son, brother, father, and friend passed away on Tuesday, March 24, after a long and courageous battle with illness. He was 63. Rick was a proud 1981 graduate of Holy Spirit High School and the owner of Bella Landscaping in Absecon. A lifelong resident, he loved his hometown and never wished to be anywhere else. He had a passion for football, NASCAR, boating, traveling, motorcycles, vintage cars, skiing, weightlifting, concerts, and a good game of blackjack, but above all, Rick's heart belonged to his family and his beloved pets, Juliette and Rocco.
Rick is predeceased by his beloved mother, Eugenia ("Jean") Kancy; and his brother, Jeffrey Scott Kancy. He is survived by his greatest pride and joy, his son, Matthew (and Natalie) Kancy and daughter, Lauren Kancy; his cherished grandchildren, Kira and Kade; his loving father, Richard Kancy; his sisters, Barbara Dahl and Louise Kancy; and his former wife, Catherine Kancy, who stood by him with unwavering support. He also leaves behind countless lifelong friends from Absecon.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Parsel's Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Avenue in Absecon, on Friday, March 27, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A service will follow at 12:00 PM, with interment at Laurel Memorial Park, Egg Harbor Township.
