Pauline Porter Tyndall

Pauline Porter Tyndall, 91, of Absecon, passed quietly at Mainland Hospital on January 5, 2026. Born in Forest Hill, Maryland during a snowstorm to William Roscoe and Anna Porter, she grew up in Bel Air, Maryland. After graduation from Bel Air High School, she went to Salisbury State Teacher’s College where she earned her degree in education in 1956. In June 1957, Pauline married Marvin Tyndall and moved to New Jersey in 1958. They moved to Absecon in 1961 and have lived there since. Pauline taught in Bel Air and Pocomoke, MD before working in and finishing her career in 1992 after 25 years teaching kindergarten in the Pleasantville School District.

In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, reading, going out to lunch with her girlfriends and volunteering for various organizations like the American Red Cross Blood Drives and the Absecon AARP #705 where she was the president and a member of the executive board. She was a long-term member of Central United Methodist Church in Linwood Church.

Pauline is predeceased by her husband, Marvin; and her four brothers. She is survived by her son, James; her daughter, Nancy Dingler and her husband, Dean; her granddaughter, Rachel (Dingler) Layng, her husband Rob and their two daughters, Sophie Grace & Allie Mae, Pauline’s great-granddaughters; her grandson, Zachery Dingler and his girlfriend, Jocelyn Rojas; two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Central United Methodist Church at 5 Marvin Ave, Linwood, NJ 08221on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 9:45AM – 10:45AM with service following at 11:00AM.
