Patrick Anthony Champion

Patrick Anthony Champion, of Egg Harbor Twp., left his family suddenly July 2, 2014. He was born February 7, 1964 in Atlantic City New Jersey. Patrick grew up in the Venice park section of Atlantic City until a young age when his family moved to Egg Harbor Township in the early 70's. Patrick was an outdoors type of person with amazing, knowledgeable talent. He loved fishing, golfing, hunting and arts and crafts. There wasn't a picture he couldn't draw. Most of them were tattoos and all birthday cards were home made with his very talented drawings. Patrick was an animal lover. His closest companion was his dog Duke, and his cat Spooky. Patrick’s favorite TV shows were Family Guy, Cops, Lizard Lick Towing and Duck Dynasty. He liked playing puzzle and clue like games on his play station. His most favorites were Midnight Racing and Silent Hill. When he had his x-box, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell was also one of his favorites. Patrick loved working on cars, and motor cycles, he had a lifelong dream only kept in secret with his brother Francis Champion to ride to Sturgis together with their best women at their sides, just like their previously deceased brother Joseph Champion. Those who truly knew Patrick, knew that he was a kind and gentle spirited soul that would give you the last dollar to his name for a soda if you were thirsty, and would go without dinner to make sure you ate. He was known for his eggs &'taters' as he called them and concoctions late at night. He loved being surrounded by friends. Bottom line, no matter what Pat or 'Super Bowl' as some friends knew him, or 'babe', as his siblings called him for being the last born in his family made sure his family had, whether it be a car or a roof over their head.

Patrick also loved NASCAR with a dying passion, but not as much as he loved his wife. Pat always went to Dover with his dad Daniel Champion and family members both in June and September. His sense of humor at the races led him to create a nickname 'Joe Dirt', where everyone there knew him. Pat and his nephew Greg were inseparable, to Pat, Greg was known as his 'buddy' or 'jerk-off'. Patrick’s sense of humor to most would have been deemed weird or unacceptable, but he always knew how to make people smile. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix. Patrick was a welder with Clam Equipment Manufacturing, based out of Atlantic City and was recently employed by his friend Tom, detailing cars at his dealership. Patrick will be missed by many, some more than most.

Patrick is survived by his mother and father, Thelma M. Champion and Daniel F. Champion, of Egg Harbor Township; his loving wife, Evelyn I. Champion; sons Keith A. Webb and Jonathan A. Webb; brother, Francis H. Champion; sisters, Margaret R. Shaw, Ellen Ireland, and Dottie Basco; half-sisters, Anna Mae, Margie and Eleanor; And many nieces and nephews. Patrick is predeceased by his brothers, Daniel and Joseph Champion.

A memorial service will be conducted 2PM Tuesday, with a gathering from 12-2, July 8, 2014 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, NJ.
