Marilyn L. Rosado (Warriner), 78, passed away after a lengthy illness, dementia. This process was made somewhat easier with the help of many caregivers over the years. Most recently, Kayce, her nurse was a true God send. Hospice care was provided by Heartland. Nurses Terri and Johanna were a comfort. Marilyn was a life-long Absecon resident. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Al and Lee Warriner; and her husband, Agustin ‘Tito’ Rosado. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Lenz; grandson, Gabriel; brother, Al Warriner (Fran); step-children, Olga, Albert, Gus and Paul; as well as many nieces and nephews. Marilyn retired from Atlantic Behavioral Health. Prior to that she was co-owner of Tito’s Autobody. In the 60’s to 80’s, she worked at Atlantic City Electric in data processing.
She was a life-long member of the Absecon Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered at Sister Jean’s Kitchen. Marilyn had an adventurous spirit. In her youth she rode horses at Hammell’s Stables in Absecon. She even rode a camel and zebra. Surfing, riding motorcycles and boating were her passions. Marilyn loved to go crabbing and fishing in Absecon Bay. She would take her daughter most weekends (to her daughters frustrations!) As she aged, she enjoyed spending summers on her boat docked in Somers Point. Pig Roasts were a summer time event that many friends and family enjoyed at the Rosado household. Her vacations were spent cruising to tropical places. She also enjoyed gardening. Marilyn’s love of animals transcended logic as her pets over the years included a racoon (‘Bandit’), chicken (Snookie), birds and numerous cats and dogs. ‘Minnie’ her Kingcharles was her most recent companion, who will meet her on the other side. Marilyn’s wishes were to have her ashes scattered in the Caribbean Sea, which will be honored March 9, 2026, her birthday.
Advice: please help all caregivers as it truly is an exhausting, thankless experience.
