Margaret 'Margi' Ann Klapatch

Margaret Ann (Nash) Klapatch, 60, of Galloway, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on October 15, 2026, after a fourteen-month battle with glioblastoma that she fought with incredible resiliency, strength, and grace.

On July 6, 1966, Margi was born in Atlantic City, NJ, and raised in Ventnor City, NJ. Growing up in Ventnor Heights, she spent quality time with her four siblings, cousins, and many friends enjoying everything the beach town has to offer. She graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1985. She later settled in Galloway after meeting her husband, Joseph P. Klapatch. Through her life, she was a member of both Saint James Roman Catholic Church in Ventnor and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Galloway.

In Margi’s early career, she worked in retail at Bradlees and Steinbach, as well as several other local businesses, before working in the accounting department at the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. Above all, Margi found her true life's work as a homemaker and a stay-at-home mother, allowing her to be a major part of her five children's lives. Through the course of her illness, and even during her hospital stays, she still found ways to ensure that all household affairs were in order.

Amongst many great things, Margi was an extraordinary cook and baker. She was always trying out new recipes from Pinterest and thoroughly enjoyed sharing her cooking and baking with her family. Sunday dinners were always an occasion for her to demonstrate her culinary prowess; this was a process that started days in advance, especially for her fall seasonal favorites for Philadelphia Eagles games. Her signature baked item was the Jewish apple cake that she made from her mother’s recipe book, and she always had freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies on hand.

Margi’s ability to make a house feel like home was exceptional. Even through her remarkable fight against cancer, she went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt cared for and continued to make every holiday magical. Margi has left an impact on many and her presence will be missed greatly.

Margi is survived by: her husband of 31 years, Joseph Peter Klapatch; her five children, Joseph J. Klapatch and partner Lydia Gjonbalaj, Amanda A. Peltzman and husband Alex, Nicholas N. Klapatch, Margaret M. Klapatch and partner Laura Terrell, and Benjamin B. Klapatch; her father, John Francis Nash, Jr.; her three sisters, Geraldine Harris, Jennifer Nash, Colleen Campo and husband Michael; sister-in-law, Raina Nash; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margi was preceded in death by her mother, Judith Gale (Beuttel) Nash; her brother, John Francis Nash III; and grandmother, Margaret Estelle (Hires) Beuttel. We cannot forget her loving sidekick, Fiona the Yorkie.

The funeral service will be held at the Church of the Assumption, 146 South Pitney Road in Galloway on Thursday, October 22, 2026. Friends and relatives will gather at 9:00-10:45 AM with Mass at 11:00 AM.
