Josephine Anne Murphy

Josephine A. Murphy, 79, of Pleasantville, NJ passed away July 4, 2026. Born in Atlantic City, NJ, she grew up in her beloved Morris Avenue neighborhood and attended Star of the Sea grade school and Holy Spirit High School. She married and moved to Absecon in 1970 where she became an active member of her community and parish and raised 3 sons. She returned to school for her LPN and was a dedicated employee at ACMC, city division, before retiring with health issues.

Josephine is predeceased by her parents, James and Lee Lynch; and by her son, James.  She is survived by her brother, Tom Lynch (Leslie); sister, Patricia Spencer (Neil); her sons, Paul Murphy (Kathy) and Matthew Murphy (Nicole); her grandsons, Rudy and Jack and her niece and nephews, Neil, Sean, Tom, Joseph and Laura.

Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2026, from 9:30AM to 10:45AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM. Graveside service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. Online condolences, may be placed at www.parselsfh.com.
