Joan F. Searfoss

 Joan F. Searfoss passed away November 1, 2025, at the age of 75.  She was born in Atlantic City on October 26, 1950, in Atlantic City, NJ to Warner and Frances (Wames) Mahaffey (Deceased).  She moved to Absecon, NJ in 1955.  She attended Holy Spirit High School in Absecon and graduated, class of 1968.  She was employed at the 177th Fighter Wing, Pomona, NJ for 23, years and retired as a Major in 2001.  Prior to that, she was in the USMC for 7 years.  She also worked as a family coordinatorduring the 2nd Gulf War for the 177th FW.  She worked for Atlantic County for several years before finally retiring in 2013.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; daughter, Nancy (Eric); son, Bryan (Brittney); grandson, Michael, all of Absecon; her sister, Theresa Rolfe (Christopher); nephew, Evan (Seonaid), of England; also numerous cousins in South Jersey, Pennsylvania and California.  She liked to travel.  She visited her sister in Africa when her sister worked for the Peace Corp.  She traveled to Europe a few times to visit her sister and family.  She enjoyed campling and liked to work in the yard and mowing the lawn.

Visitation will be 9AM to 10:45AM on Monday November 10, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon.  A funeral mass will be offered at 11AM.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.  Online condolences may be placed at www.parselsfh.com.
