Jane M. Shenk

Jane M. Shenk, 96, of Absecon, passed away peacefully Friday October 30, 2026. Born in Atlantic City, she spent her entire life in Absecon. She was a proud member of the Pleasantville High School class of 1948. She attended Drexel University in Philadelphia before returning home to eventually marry the love of her life, Howard Shenk, on November 5, 1955.

She worked for Drs. Ware and Lockhart, in Somer Point for many years and also for Dr. Rupert, in Absecon. She finished her career working for Atlantic City Electric in the promotions department before finally retiring in 1993. In her free time, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved traveling, gardening and many different hobbies like knitting. She was a long-time member at the United Methodist Church in Absecon.

Jane is predeceased by her husband, Howard W. Shenk; and sister, Margaret (Midge) Helfrich. She is survived by her children, Stephen E. Shenk and Sandra E. Cain (Chuck Hicks); grandchildren, Kailin Shenk, Danielle Shenk, Kevin Cain (Stacey), Ben Cain (Mya); and great granddaughters, Anahi and Crilla Jane.

Visitation will be 11AM to 12PM on Tuesday November 10, 2026 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave, Absecon, NJ 08201. A service will immediately follow at 12PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Laurel Memorial Park in Egg Harbor Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Absecon (https://abseconumc.com).
