Gloria Zona

Zona, Gloria M. (nee McKenna), 79, of Absecon, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2011 with her family at her side. Gloria married her husband of 60 years, Albert L. Zona, and helped support him in the family business, Zona’s Texaco, until he retired. As a mother and homemaker, she continued her education and founded her own real estate firm, Zona Real Estate, in 1981. She was an active member of the Atlantic City and County Board of Realtors, until she retired in 1997. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and donated her time and talents to many charitable organizations. She always looked forward to meeting the many friends she had at the Absecon Senior Center. She loved the home she made, she loved to read and travel, and she especially loved and appreciated her family gatherings on Sunday afternoons.

In addition to her husband Al, Gloria is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Silvern (Steve), Stephanie Scola (Drew), Jeannine Wescoat (Leon) and Gloria Steiner (Bill); grandchildren, Christopher Silvern (Paige), Courtney Cittadini (Stephen), Lauren Nelson (Matt), LeonWescoat, IV (Karen), Abigail (Sean Curran), Rachael and Daniel Wescoat, McKenna and Maddie Steiner; Great-Grandchildren, Clark and Jacob Silvern, Stephen and Giuliana Cittadini, Cooper Curran, Catherine, Brynley and Matt Nelson and Lyla Wescoat; her sister, Mary Lou Ross (Ralph), as well as many extended family members and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Robert A. and Alice Leavey McKenna and sisters, Lorraine D’Amico and Joan Palance.

Visitation will be 9AM to 10:45AM, Saturday, October 8, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Avenue, Absecon. A funeral mass will be offered at 11AM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name made be made to a charity of one’s choice.
