Essie Newell

Essie Newell, of Galloway, NJ, was born May 14,1927 in Toronto, Canada, and passed away May 23, 2026. Essie enjoyed her family, friends, animals, her pets, long walks, nature, gardening, and being active in church. She also enjoyed entertaining guests, gourmet cooking and traveling with her husband.

She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Eric James Newell; also by her sisters, Margaret Perley and Effie Weatherston; her brothers, Robert Colville and William Miskelly. She is survived by her son, Eric Wayne Newell; cousins, Bonnie Meshorer (David), Jean Starke (Bill) and James Harbinson (Carol).

Visitation will be 10AM to 11:30AM on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Absecon Presbyterian Church, 208 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, NJ. A service will follow at 11:30AM. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
