Dr. Frank Lodato, Ph.D

Dr. Frank F. Lodato, Ph.D., passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on August 30, 1935, in South Philadelphia, Frank lived a life defined by devotion to his family, a passion for helping others, and an appreciation for life’s simple joys.

He spent his early years in Blackwood, NJ, and graduated from Haddon Township High School. Determined to pursue higher education, Frank went on to earn his Ph.D. and a degree in hypnotherapy. During this time, he became the owner and instructor of an Arthur Murray Dance Studio, where his love of dance flourished. It was there that he met the love of his life, Christa Lodato, with whom he built a home filled with love and laughter in Cinnaminson, NJ, where they raised their two daughters.

Frank’s professional path led him to open the Lodato Hypnosis Clinic in Pennsauken, NJ, where he dedicated his career to helping others achieve healing, clarity, and personal growth. His sister-in-law worked as his secretary, and his cousin, George Fieo, often helped in the office. His work touched countless lives and reflected his deep compassion for people.

He treasured time with his family and spent many wonderful days on the beach in Atlantic City, NJ. In 1984, Frank made Atlantic City the family’s permanent home and opened another hypnosis clinic there. Alongside his professional pursuits, he discovered a love for real estate and worked as a poker dealer at Bally’s in Atlantic City. Truly a “jack of all trades,” Frank’s curiosity and talents seemed endless. He also served in the US Army from 1958 to 1963, a role he carried with quiet pride.

His generosity knew no bounds—he often provided hypnosis to people in need, even when they could not afford it. He appeared on many daytime talk shows, sharing his knowledge and passion with a wider audience. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Frank delighted in performing magic shows, including those at New Albany School in Cinnaminson, NJ. Bringing smiles and laughter to others was one of his greatest joys.

Above all, Frank cherished his family, who meant everything to him. He was a proud father, a grandfather to three, and a great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren. He also shared his life with his loving dog, Cole, who was a constant companion.

Survived by his loving daughter, Monique Lodato; grandchildren, Christopher Lodato, Sheena Lodato and Lauren Lodato; his brother, Augustine Lodato and sister-in-law, Rose Lodato; nephew, Michael Lodato and his wife, Mary; niece, Susan Lodato; cousins, George and Rita Marie Fieo and his cousin Loretta; Chris’ girlfriend, Diana and countless other relatives.

Predeceased by his parents, Phillip and Anna Lodato (Giordano); his loving wife, Christa Lodato (Raffa); his loving daughter, Diane C. Lodato; and his nephew, David Lodato.

Frank will be remembered as a man with the biggest heart of all—a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and true friend whose kindness, passion, and warmth touched everyone he met.
