Charles “Charlie” H. Rosenbaum, 85, of Pleasantville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on November 21, 2025, after a brief illness.
Born in Mt. Holly, New Jersey, on February 17, 1940, Charlie was the son of the late William and Margaret (Hoffman) Rosenbaum. He graduated from Audubon High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from May 14, 1957, until October 2, 1959.
Charlie worked for 40 years as a proud member of the National Elevator Union Local #5. His dedication to service extended beyond his career and into his lifelong commitment to veterans and his community. He was an active member of the Absecon VFW Post #9462 and the Absecon American Legion Post #28. From 1995 to 2011, he served as Captain of the Absecon VFW Honor Guard. He also served as the Chaplain for the Honor Guard. These roles reflected his deep respect for those who served and his calling to honor them.
Charlie will be remembered for his sharp wit, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to family, friends, and community. His life was one of service, love, and integrity — a man whose quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Julianne (Kocsar) Rosenbaum; his children Kimberly (Mark) Rickards, Charlene (Leonel) Rosenbaum-Colón, Suzanne Rosenbaum, Samantha Guerro, George (Nancy) Hayes, and Michael (Debbie) Hayes; grandchildren Anthony, Dominic, Reece, Billy (Gabbie), Danielle, George, Timmy (Lindsey), Jenn (Ren), Michelle (Dan), and Randy (Brianna); and great-grandchildren Robby, Jordyn, Theo, Luna and Sadie. He is also survived by his twin brother, John Rosenbaum.
A graveside service will be held on January 3, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Mays Landing, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Charlie’s memory to the Absecon VFW Honor Guard, 6058 English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234 — an organization that held a special place in his heart.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Absecon VFW Honor Guard for their support and presence during this time. In addition, sincere gratitude is given to Charlie’s hospice nurse, Nancy Hansell, and aide, Ibis Listes, for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided in his final days. The family would also like to thank the entire staff of Parsels Funeral Home for their professionalism, kindness, and the exceptional services they provided during this difficult time.
Charlie’s life of service, dedication, and love will forever remain an inspiration to those who were blessed to know him. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched, and the countless memories shared by family and friends.
Forever in our hearts.
