Charles 'Chalie' Paul Roman, III

Charles “Chalie” Paul Roman III, 78, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Atlantic City, Chalie was a proud resident of the shore and was always eager to share his stories about the days he spent in the Inlet. Chalie was a graduate of Holy Spirit High School. He served on the Atlantic City Police Department, where he created countless memories with lifelong friends.

A passionate sports fan, Chalie was rarely seen without his New York Yankees gear. His knowledge of the New York Yankee stats and history was vast. He had a deep love of sports, whether cheering from the sidelines during football season or taking the field himself in numerous softball games over the years.

Chalie will be remembered for his mischievous nature and quick wit — always ready with a sly grin, a clever remark, or some type of prank to keep everyone on their toes. His sense of humor was one of his trademarks, and it brought light to even the toughest of days. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Chalie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cynthia Roman; his son, Eric Roman; his granddaughter Ryan Roman; and his mother, Dorothy Roman.

Chalie is sadly missed and survived by his son, Charles Paul Roman, IV (Terra); daughter, Danielle Voss (Patrick); and his stepson, Daniel Harper (Tracy). He is also survived by his cherished sisters, Patty Grigg, Janet Brockunier, and Marie Roman, along with his best friend and “brother”, John Sidenberg. He was the proud “Poppy” to his 9 grandchildren, Eric, Gavin, Tess, Patrick, Lilly, Alec, Cole, Anthony and Charlie, who brought endless pride and joy to his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Avenue, Absecon, NJ, with a celebratory service at 7:30 PM. Online condolences may be placed at www.parselsfh.com.
