Del Gaizo, August, 91, of Staten Island, NY, passed away on May 13, 2025 surrounded by family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he grew up in Benson Hurst, Brooklyn, NY and lived in Staten Island working for the NY Daily News while raising his family. He was a Veteran with the U.S Navy during the Korean War in the 1950’s. In his free time, he loved to travel, spend time with his family, create memories and traditions, gamble, and loved the race track. He enjoyed baking his moms struffli and his wife’s bows with his daughter and granddaughter during the Holidays. He enjoyed the Philadelphia Flyers and watching Gritty. He was looking forward to being a great grandpa this upcoming October 2025.

August is predeceased by his parents George and Georgiana Del Gaizo, brother Richard Del Gaizo (Dorothy Del Gaizo), beloved wife Vera Del Gaizo, and son in law Edward Mallett. He is survived by his daughter Georgiana Del Gaizo Mallett, son John Del Gaizo (Felicia Del Gaizo), granddaughter Gabrielle Thompson (Bill Thompson), nephew George Del Gaizo, along with other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, May 19, 2025 at Parsels Funeral Home from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM. A service will immediately follow at 8:00PM. Burial will be private Online condolences, may be placed at www.parselsfh.com.
