Andrew M Haines, Jr.

Andrew M. Haines Jr., 76, affectionately known as “Buzzy,” passed away peacefully at his home in Absecon, NJ surrounded by his family on July 10, 2026.

Andrew was raised in Margate and spent most of his life in Egg Harbor Township before settling in Absecon during his later years. At a young age, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he spent most of his working life as a mason, where his strong work ethic and craftsmanship earned the respect of those who knew him.

Andrew was an avid golfer, and retirement gave him the opportunity to spend countless days doing what he loved most—being out on the golf course.

He was a devoted father to Robert Haines, Ria Miles, and Matt (Trish) Haines. He was a proud and loving “Pop” to his seven grandchildren: Nicole, Andrew, Brandon, Devin, Bella, Emma, and Nicolas. He also had two great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Lynlee, who brought him great joy. Andrew was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda A. Haines, and his grandson, Drew. He leaves behind many cherished memories with the family who loved him dearly.

To many, he was Buzzy. To his grandchildren, he was Pop. To his children, affectionately, he was Old Man. He loved sharing stories from his life—often the same stories time and time again. We listened, smiled, and laughed, knowing that one day those stories would become treasured memories. They were a glimpse into the life that shaped the man we knew and loved. We would give anything to hear just one more story.

He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Respecting Andrew’s wishes, there will be no public service. A private gathering for his immediate family will be held to honor and celebrate his life.
