Alfred Olin Warriner, 84, of Absecon, finished the race on May 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Al was born in Pleasantville to Alfred and Lee Warriner. He was raised in Absecon, spending some of his teen years in Tennessee, but returning by his senior year of high school to graduate from Pleasantville High and call Absecon home forever.
Al started his business, Warriner’s Construction in 1965, servicing the community with his sons by his side, for major union and non-union carpentry projects, snow removal, and top soil. He never turned down the opportunity to move some dirt in his favorite John Deere loader, preferably with one of his grandchildren on his lap. One of his proudest accomplishments in his lifetime was building his dream home by hand, a skillfully crafted ski chalet overlooking Faunce Landing and Absecon Bay, where he resided from its completion in 1979 to his final moments.
Al married the love of his life, Fran in 1998 and began their epic love story. Al and Fran lived their 30 years together to the fullest, traveling around the country with Al behind the wheel and Fran in the front seat with a map in her hands. Their love of nature, hiking, birdwatching, spiritual music, all mediums of art, and making new friends in every place they visited made them the perfect pair. Al’s fondest travel memories include hiking Mount Washington four times, sitting on the dock in Booth Bay Harbor, Maine indulging on a fresh lobster, and spending time on the reservations in Arizona.
Al was an avid skier and passed that talent down to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He spent many years with the South Jersey “Sea-Gulls” crew at Pico Mountain in Vermont and even moved his family and work crew to Pico for a year to develop the homes alongside the mountain. Canon Mountain in New Hampshire was also a place where Al spent time making countless memories on the mountain with Fran and friends. His passion for the outdoors continued through quality time with his boys hunting, fishing, boating, and white water rafting with his group the “Absecon Animals”.
Al was fiercely dedicated to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His favorite treat to his family was orchestrating annual canoe trips on the Wading River for everyone to spend quality time together. His silly jokes, words of wisdom, lessons of hard work, strength, and grit will be forever instilled into the lives of all who had the honor of knowing Al.
Al is predeceased by his parents Alfred and Lee Warriner; sister, Marilyn Rosado; and his grandsons, Joseph LoPresti and Julian Warriner. He is survived by his devoted wife, Frances Domenic Warriner; sons, Alfred “Happy” Warriner (Patty), Troy Warriner (Terri), Steven Warriner (Linda), Greg Warriner; daughter, Lori Heath (Mike), and step-children, Amy Walsh and Tommy Walsh (Lee); and niece, Denise Lenz; grandchildren, Jason (Nicole), Wesley, Danielle (Chino), Taylor (Mike), T.J., Elizabeth, Steven Jr. (Stephanie), Kat, Chelsea (Taylor), Julie (Joel), Chase, Tony (Stephanie), Michael (Jordan), Kayla, Tyler (Kat), Joshua, and Madalyn; great-grandchildren, Chase, Jayden, Carson, Savannah, Raynah, Ramiah, Rosa, Chino, Lito, Logan, Carter, Emma, Callie, Steven III, Luke, Rhys, Lincoln, Stella, Eddie, Tony, Ryan, Micah, Grace, Selah; and a great-great grandchild on the way.
