To the Petersen Family,

We are sorry to hear of the passing of Mark. We all grew up together in Philadelphia and spent many moments together; moments that will not be easily forgotten. Memories like - George Washington High School, Dimensions, eating in your mom and dad's kitchen, and hanging out in the living room (Valerie and me) while the guys snuck out the bedroom window. He was one of the boys - a character; but a brother none-the-less. Mark was always full of life, kind and considerate. He was also always very handy and good at what he did.

Valerie, Gary, John, James and Lori,
I know all too well how hard it is to lose your brother, no matter the relationship. I too lost my brother, Frank, unexpectedly this time last year just like you are experiencing now. Mark and Frank were only a year apart in age, and both with so much to live for. It's sad, it hurts and IT IS NEVER EASY. My hope and prayer for each of you is that you will look to God and find His love, grace, peace and presence able to sustain you as only He can. I hope that you will each take comfort in the days ahead, knowing that Mark is at peace now. No more sorrow or suffering. Your brother, who you all love, may be gone - but lives on in the many memories of those times you shared together!

To Heather and family,
Your Uncle loved you and knew everything you did for him and the special ways you looked out for him.

To Michelle, Michael, Sean, Ethan, and Matthew,
Know this without any doubt - Your DAD loved you all so much and each of you held a special place in his heart always!

To Jamie,
Although we have never met, I pray for God to strengthen you and that you might know His presence personally in a special way. May God sustain you during these difficult days ahead.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and all of your families at this time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May God comfort you and give you His peace. Although Mark is physically gone, his life and kind spirit will be celebrated and certainly remembered by his family, friends and all those who knew him.

The Ewell family, Judy (Ewell) and Ed Summers
