Obituary

Floyd William Brice, 74, of Egg Harbor Township and most recently, Somers Point, NJ passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 23, 2021. His daughters, Misty and Bonnie, and his girlfriend, Phyllis were by his side. Born in Frederick, MD, Floyd grew up in Graceham, MD and lived in the Thurmont, MD area before moving to New Jersey some 50+ years ago.

Floyd was employed for over 40 years with Kline Construction Company of Galloway, NJ where he worked as a heavy equipment operator until he retired. In his spare time he enjoyed driving charter buses for Academy. He later transitioned to driving a school bus for Integrity Transportation, then most recently worked for Mainland High School as a driver until he had to give it up due to illness.

He enjoyed years of card playing and gambling with his friends, fishing, and visiting the mountains of Maryland and West Virginia. For the last four years he found renewed life with his companion and best friend, Phyllis Bagnell. As per the words of Garth Brooks, he tried in every way to show her every day that he loved her and that she was his only one. He also spent quality time with his daughters, Misty Stitely of PA and Bonnie Shaffer of Colorado, as well as his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Now that his time on earth is through, we will face each day without him but he left us with enough love to last.

Floyd is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Brice, and his parents, Raymond F. Brice and Mae E. Green Brice Monn. He is survived by his brother Ray (Connie) Brice of Keymar, MD; his nephew, Ray Steven; niece, Tina; his daughters, Misty (Doug) Stitely of Littlestown, PA, and Bonnie Brice Shaffer of Grand Junction, CO, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11AM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Living Faith Chapel located at 5200 S. White Horse Pike, Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215. Interment will be private.
